We visited the ranch Sunday Feb. 9th. Myself (Brian),
My wife (Amy),my Mom (Grandma Joyce) and my two
children Hayley and Jake. Grandma wanted to explore
the local hills and Hayley was very very exited about
petting a horse that morning, even before we had a
destination for our Sunday drive. We had just decided
to head into the hills to look around. After an
entire morning of Hayley asking "where are the horses
dad"? I began to get a little worried about where I
was going to come up with a horse on this county dirt
road. Just as I was beginning to formulate my
explanation to Hayley, of how we probably won't find
any horses to pet out here. We rounded a corner and
there's a sign that says "Horses For Rent". At this
point I would of rented a horse just for her to pet.
Three miles of beautiful desert driving past the sign,
we see the signs and opened gate of the ranch inviting
us in. I can relax and my kids think I,m a super
hero!
For a day with no plans or destination, a mom with
cabin fever, a daughter (not quite 4 years old) that
really wanted to pet a horse that day and a fairly
short schedule (We hadn't packed lunch). We could not
have had a better day! Maybe, I wasn't the only one
driving our truck that Day?
Coming across a place as wonderful as Oak Springs
simply by chance doesn't happen very often. Thank you
again for being so inviting and letting us simply pet
the horses.
I asked Hayley on the following Monday who she wanted
to ride when we returned to the ranch. Her reply was
"the black horse with the tiny white moon on her
forehead"! You guys have made a lasting impression on
my family.
We are all exited about coming out and going riding
and visiting in the very near future. We will see you
soon.
